Join the Ida B. Wells Impact Fund
Invest in equity. Power accountability in communications.
Why This Work Matters
The communications industry shapes what people believe, what they value, and who they see as worthy of respect.
And for too long, it has failed to reflect the full truth.
The Diversity Action Alliance seeks to challenge inequity by confronting bias and holding the industry accountable for how stories are told, whose stories are told, and who gets to tell them.
This is about dismantling both unconscious and conscious bias and ensuring that people, especially those historically excluded, are seen, heard, respected, and represented.
What is a Founding Member?
A Founding Member invests in the Ida B. Wells Impact Fund during its inaugural year.
With a $500 gift, they help lay the foundation for a fund dedicated to truth, equity, and accountability in the communications industry. In doing so, they honor Ida B. Wells’ legacy of telling the truth plainly, especially when the truth was contested, inconvenient, or dangerous.
In recognition of their early commitment, Founding Members will receive perpetual recognition and Founding Member benefits.
We are looking for 100 people with the conviction to turn their values into tangible support for truth, equity, and accountability.

Why Ida B. Wells?
Ida B. Wells was a journalist, researcher, and civil rights activist who used truth to challenge injustice and hold systems accountable.
Through investigative reporting and advocacy, she exposed what others refused to confront and demanded that the truth be told.
Her work reflects the same principles guiding the Diversity Action Alliance today:
Truth. Accountability. Representation.
“The way to right wrongs is to turn the light of truth upon them.”
