Communications and Events Associate (Part-Time/Intern, Remote)

The Diversity Action Alliance is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Communications and Events Associate. This is a part-time position that does not include benefits. The ideal candidate for this role is a graduate student or post-graduate with previous experience in communications and event planning. This is a remote position, allowing for flexibility and work-from-home convenience. The role requires a commitment of six months.

Responsibilities

-Assist in developing and implementing communication strategies to promote our organization's events and initiatives.

- Write and edit content for various communication channels, including promotional materials, newsletters, websites, and social media.

- Collaborate with team members to create engaging and informative event announcements, press releases, and other communication materials.

- Conduct research and market analysis to identify target audiences and potential partners for our events.

- Support the planning and coordination of virtual and in-person events, including scheduling, logistics, vendor management, and attendee registration.

- Assist with event promotion and outreach efforts through various channels, including social media, email marketing, and targeted communications.

- Provide administrative support, such as maintaining event databases, managing RSVPs, and coordinating event materials.

Qualifications

- Currently pursuing or have completed a graduate program or post-graduate studies in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.

- Prior experience in communications, event planning, or related roles preferred.

- Strong writing and editing skills to create engaging content.

- Familiarity with social media platforms, email marketing tools, and event management software.

- Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively within a team setting.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.

- Must be detail-oriented, able to meet deadlines, and maintain high professionalism.
